

YOGA
Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and a feeling of being at one with the environment. Yoga offers physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages. Yoga is as good as basic stretching for easing pain and improving mobility and people with lower back pain. The American College of Physicians recommends yoga as a first line treatment for chronic low back pain. Yoga has been shown to ease some discomforts of tender, swollen joints for people with arthritis. Regular yoga practice May reduce levels of stress and body wide inflammation, contributing to healthier hearts. Several factors contributing to heart disease, including high blood pressure and excess weight, can also be addressed through yoga. Research shows that a consistent bedtime yoga routine can help you get in the right mindset and prepare your body to fall asleep and stay asleep. You may feel increased mental and physical energy, a boost in alertness and enthusiasm, and fewer negative feelings after getting into a routine of practicing yoga. According to the National Institutes of health, scientific evidence shows that yoga supports stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, weight loss and quality sleep. Participating in yoga classes can ease loneliness and provide an environment for group healing and support. Numerous studies show yoga's benefits and arthritis, osteopenia, balance issues, oncology, women's health, chronic pain, and other specialties.

ZEN
MEDITATION
With each meditation class, students are led through correct postures for meditation, constructive mindsets, and lessons in mindfulness. In addition, some classes utilize reading selections considering Zen meditation and further applications of mindfulness. Finally, attendees should dress comfortably and are encouraged to ask questions. All people are welcome.

Ballet focuses on exercises, techniques, and steps of Classical Ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. It includes a warm-up at the barre with center floor work and combinations. Adult ballet is a great workout for the whole body. Ballet is a weight-bearing form of exercise which strengthens muscles, promotes healthy bones, and burns calories. Because ballet uses the full range of muscles, it's also great for cognitive functions such as coordination and concentration. We all know that ballet is great for posture and balance, but did you know that adult ballet can also reduce the symptoms of depression, arthritis, and diabetes and is more, ballet has also been shown to fend off dementia and osteoporosis.

JAZZ
Jazz dance grew out of the social dance forms that people had used over many decades. It is what people do when they are celebrating, relaxing, and enjoying themselves. Jazz dance today in all its forms, still maintains that joy and excitement but studying jazz dance offers benefits beyond just sheer enjoyment, such as physical fitness, artistic expression and practical cross training skills. The health and physical fitness benefits of jazz dancing includes increased strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance. the athletic, full body nature of jazz dance develops Armstrong from floor work, leg strength from jumps, and core strength from coordinating the limbs. Jazz dance classes consist of stretching sequences that lengthen the larger muscles of the legs and lower back. Increased flexibility and range of motion in the hips, shoulders, and spine commonly developed from Jazz Dance Training. Challenging steps and combinations, in which the upper and lower body parallel and contrast each other in numerous ways, create increased coordination in jazz dances dancers. Remember the old challenge to rub your head and Pat your tummy? That task becomes simple for jazz dancers who learn complex rhythmic patterns. Besides the strength, flexibility, and coordination developed in jazz dance, the infectious, high energy rhythmic music of a jazz dance class leads to increased endurance and stamina.

SCIENCE
Science enrichment classes for middle school and high school students. These classes involve both discussion and hands-on analytical methods designed to encourage critical thinking and problem solving in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The hope is to engage the students in discussion of topics relevant to their daily lives and to have them develop and perform small-scale experiments using everyday equipment. The goal is to stimulate their interest in the natural world and how science seeks to explain it.

The art class will be combination of different types and techniques of art. We will be painting, drawing, transforming recyclables, crafting for events, making scenery, and more.
ART

Hands-On cooking activities help children develop confidence and skill. Following recipes encourages children to be self-directed and independent, it also teaches them to follow directions and develop problem solving skills. Children also strengthen their fine motor skills through cutting, pouring, and scooping. They develop a basic understanding of math concepts like understanding volume through measuring different ingredients.
